News for the week of November 9, 2015

Friday's Quarter Final Playoff against North Catholic is at Deer Lakes High School.  Game time is 7:30pm.  The Marching Crusaders bus will depart BC at 5:15pm.  Due to Friday rush hour traffic, families who are going to the game should allow about 60 minutes driving time from BCHS area.

The current weather forecast suggests it will be a cold damp evening, so plan accordingly with Under Armor and raincoats.

Parents, we are in need of volunteers this week: four Chaperones (at least one who is a man), one Truck Driver and two Field Crew.  Please email Mrs. Ranalli (sranalli@omnihotels.com) if you are able to volunteer.

Also parents, if any of you would like to watch the field show from the press box, we are in need of show announcer this week.  If you are interested, please email me.

There will be a short Pep Rally at the end of the school day on Friday.  Musicians are dismissed from period 9 to set up/warm up.

Stay tuned for two additional emails concerning the Banquet and the Sweet Fundraiser.

Marching Crusaders: News for week of November 2, 2015

Good job with your halftime performance last Saturday!

Playoff game this week.  Any parent who can volunteer as a chaperone or field crew, please email Mrs. Ranalli.

Once again, it's time to consider having your uniforms cleaned and pressed.  We're getting a bit wrinkly.  Also, take a look at your shoes.  Many appear to need spruced up a bit as well.

Members were given sales forms at last Saturday's game for the Sweet Shoppe Fundraiser.  We'll also be sending electronic copies via email this week.

Banquet information will be coming soon so stay tuned.

From Mrs. Knoll:
"I want to thank everyone who helped make the Boo Bingo a great day.  The kids had a fantastic time and for those who volunteered it was all due to you.  The kids absolutely adored the games and that was in a large part because you guys had such fun with them.  I want to thank all the parents who sent in baked goods for the sale.  And I want to send a big thank you to the parents that hung around and kept everything in line.  Remember if you spent any time helping out, make sure Mr. J has your name and the hours you worked.  they will be turned in very soon and they do count as volunteer hours towards the school.  Again, I want to thank you all for your time and talents.  Happy Halloween!"

Marching Crusaders: News for the week of October 5, 2015

Well done last Friday evening!  Despite the damp and cold, you all gave a great performance.  Let's do it at home this week as well!

There are several "stray" raincoats laying around.  Please claim yours.

Rehearsal and Hoagie/Food Pickup this Wednesday evening.

Details soon to come for the November 22nd Banquet.

Performance at Girls Volleyball Game:  Musicians able to perform for Tuesday evening's Girls Volleyball Game should let Jesse S. know today.

Possible Football Playoffs: Given the football team's victory, it is now time to consider playoffs.  At this point, it would be best to keep your November Fridays and Saturdays clear.  We won't know until the end of this month if we have a playoff spot and then from that point forward, it is a week-to-week thing.

A message from the Home Game Dinner Committee: Please send in $6 per student for the home game dinner on 10/10/15.  It will be a catered dinner of pasta, meatballs, salad, bread, and desserts.  The money should be given to Olivia Clark (Sophomore Crusette), as her Mother, Tandy Clark is collecting it all for the Caterer.  Thank you very much.

A message from the Band Parents Executive Committee: Thanks to everyone who participated in the hoagie sale, we made a profit of $554.50. A special thanks to Kim Smith for organizing it.  Just a reminder that the hoagies will be distributed at practice on Wednesday, October 7th.

A message from Mrs. Knoll about Boo-Bingo:  We would need a volunteer list for set up Sat. night, pre bingo games, bingo serving, and clean up.  She would like to have specific jobs this year so to many of the kids are not sitting around waiting for something to do.  Donations needed:
    1.  Hostess like donuts (for game)
    2. 1 roll for toilet paper/band member (for game)
    3.  Baked goods, at least 1 / band member packaged for sell at $1
    4.  All member volunteering in child friendly appropriate costumes
The Date is Sunday Oct 25 from 1-3.  doors open at noon so we would need everyone there around 11.  I will have a more concrete time as we get closer.
